Congratulations! You're graduating from Law School!

The School of Law's Commencement ceremony will take place on Monday, May 20, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the Patricia and Arthur Modell Performing Arts Center at the Lyric.

A message from the Law Career Development Office: Pursuant to ABA reporting requirements and in the interest of obtaining comprehensive employment data for the Class of 2013, please complete the Graduate Employment Survey (https://law-ubalt-csm.symplicity.com/students/index.php?ss=grad_survey&s=profile).

PLEASE NOTE: Completing your Graduate Employment Survey is a prerequisite for obtaining your cap and gown during garb distribution.

The commencement speaker is to be determined.

  • Concentration Applications

    If you intend to declare a concentration, please submit an application no later than October 15 for fall graduates and April 15 for spring graduates. Applications are also available in the Dean's suite.

  • Regalia

    The law school uses rental robes for commencement. You do not pay extra money for this garb but you must order it. You must order regalia and participate in the ceremony in order to receive tickets. Herff Jones (our vendor) will be in the law school lobby on April 2 and 3, noon to 6pm, to take orders.
  • Tickets

    A ticket is required for all guests who are over the age of three years. The graduate does not need a ticket for access to the Lyric. In order to receive your six (6) tickets for graduation, you must order academic robes and participate in the ceremony. Information about extra tickets will be sent via e-mail by the end of April.
  • Seating at the Lyric (accommodations)

    The only reserved seating at the Lyric will be for individuals needing accommodations due to a disability (e.g., uses a wheelchair, a walker, is deaf or has some other specific need to be accommodated) . Send an e-mail to Leslie Metzger no later than May 3 telling her the nature of the accommodation needed. She will respond with further information.

  • Garb Pick-up

    You may pick up your gown, cap and tickets on May 9, 10, and 13th, noon-6 p.m., in LC 215.Specific written instructions will be provided to you then about when you must be at The Lyric to get lined up.
  • Photographs.
  • Photos will be taken of each graduate as he or she crosses the stage to receive a hood and congratulations from the President of the University. There will be an opportunity for individual photographs to be taken by the photographer contracted by the University – Northeast Photo Network. 
  • Returning Rental Garb and Hood

    Following the ceremony on Monday, May 20, there will be a reception at the law school for your guests. The graduates will return their robes and hoods at that time to Room 215 in the law center. Anyone wishing to purchase these garments may do so. The charge for both is approximately $300.
