Johanson joined the UBalt Law faculty in December 2022. She previously worked at the Capital Area Immigrants Rights (CAIR) Coalition, where she was first an Immigrant Justice Corps Fellow, and then a senior attorney on the Maryland Universal Representation team. She represented Marylanders who were detained by ICE and facing removal proceedings before the Baltimore, Arlington, Va., and Cleveland Immigration Courts.
Johanson earned her J.D. from the University of California, Irvine, School of Law; her M.Sc. in Migration Studies from the University of Oxford, Kellogg College; and her B.A. in International Affairs from the George Washington University.
