University of Baltimore and Maryland Legal Community Recognize Chief Judge Bell As He Retires
The University of Baltimore School of Law is proud to join the state’s legal community in the celebration of the career of Maryland Court of Appeals Chief Judge Robert M. Bell, who is retiring after nearly four decades of groundbreaking, precedent-setting work in Maryland’s judiciary. As a judge, as a lawyer, and as a friend to the school and a colleague to its faculty, students, staff and alumni, Chief Judge Bell has proven to be a singular figure in all of our lives. Indeed, there is good reason why the event marking his retirement is entitled “Robert M. Bell: Bridge Builder.”
“Judge Bell has been a towering legal figure in our state and a special inspiration to University of Baltimore Law students,” said Ronald Weich, dean of the UBalt School of Law. “He has spoken at the law school on countless occasions, and it is always a thrill to have him here. He embodies the values of the law, the values we seek to inculcate in our graduates.”
