Every year UBalt Students for Public Interest (UBSPI) awards grants of $4,000 to students who intern full time over the summer for public-interest law organizations. Recipients are expected to work 400 hours (40 hours a week for 10 weeks). Funding comes from the Maryland Legal Services Corporation and UBSPI student-led fundraising efforts, including the annual UBSPI auction. Bid on great live and silent auction items to support University of Baltimore School of Law students doing public interest work this summer.
Are you a UBalt law student?
Applications are now available for summer 2014 UBSPI grants. First-year students, if you are placed with a public-interest organization through EXPLOR, you are eligible to apply for a UBSPI grant. Contact Ellen Cobb with questions about the grant process.
Last year UBSPI awarded 19 grants. Don't miss out on your chance! Grant applications are due in hard copy to the LCDO (law center first floor, Suite B) by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2014. Applications will be accepted beginning Monday, March 10.
