Who is Eligible to be a Fannie Angelos Scholar?
Juniors, seniors, alumni or graduate students from Bowie State University, Coppin State University, Morgan State University, the University of Baltimore , or the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. You should have at least a 3.0 cumulative undergraduate GPA, but if not, explain in your application why your grades do not reflect your full academic potential.
When Does the Program Start and End:
The Program provides holistic support as you prepare for the law school entrance exam (the LSAT) from January through early August. If you attend UBalt Law, you would begin law school one year later after the exam, and Program support would continue throughout law school and beyond.
What are the benefits of participating in the Program: In addition to a FREE LSAT course, participants will have an opportunity to build relationships and network with legal professionals, as well as Program faculty, staff, and current law students, who will guide them and monitor their progress throughout their law school journey.
While the Angelos Scholars are not required to attend the University of Baltimore School of Law, those who complete the program successfully, have a cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 3.5 out of 4.0, attain a score of 153 or higher on the LSAT and otherwise qualify for admission will receive a full three-year tuition scholarship to the University of Baltimore School of Law. Those with slightly lower numbers may still receive scholarship money from the law school.
How people are accepted into the program each year?
